Yoyo Ideas Update

Based on the recommendations on YoyoExpert, I researched more about yoyo string. I found that string usually is bought in bulk and when practicing a lot, people tend to replace their yoyo string weekly, or even more frequent. I also found that many people liked Kitty String, and also told me to check out Blueprint string.
Yoyo-wise, the majority of people leaned towards the YoyoJam Classic, so I think that I am going to go with that. On the unresponsive side, I wanted to stay budget friendly, so I am still looking for good yoyos under $30. The yoyo would have to have good sleep times and handling to be good with the Trick Ladder. Some of the yoyos I am researching are the YoYOfficer Kilter and the Magic Yoyo N12. Both are under $30, and I am comparing their aspects to see which one will be the best for me. I will compare both the yoyos' aspects and their reviews online. I am hoping to make the choice soon, so I can get to work on the Trick Ladder.

6/27/14

I have added a Goals/Motivations page explaining what my goals are and why I would like to achieve them. I have also added a sidebar that explains the IBMYP Personal Project.

The forum topic that I created (http://yoyoexpert.com/forums/index.php/topic,75834.0.html) that was looking for yoyo ideas is going nicely. I got a lot of great input on what yoyos to get (and a lot of friendly people also!), and even what extras to look at such as additional string. I am going to look it over this weekend, and hopefully have a better idea of what to get for my project than I did at the beginning.

Yoyo Ideas

First off, I will want 2 yoyos to do the Yoyo String Sport Ladder. One responsive (a yoyo that comes back up with a tug on the string) and one unresponsive (a yoyo that requires a bind to come back up). This is because the tricks vary and different types of yoyos are helpful when doing the Sport Ladder. Also, I need input on if I need accessories that will help with the tricks.
So, to find advice, I made a forum topic on Yoyoexpert.com to get a good idea on what to get for my project.

It can be found here:
http://yoyoexpert.com/forums/index.php/topic,75834.0.html

I'll leave it for a couple of days, and then see what input they have.

Project Proposal

This post is to document my proposal and what I plan to do for future reference.

My goals are to:
  1. Learn the Yoyo String Sport Ladder consisting of 25 tricks (also known as Trick Ladder).
  2. Videotape the Yoyo String Sport Ladder when I have mastered it.
  3. Present the Yoyo String Sport Ladder to a group of kids as a performance and have them give feedback on my performance.
