First clip!

Here is a test video of how it's going to look; the only problem is there are some tricks that go width-wise more than height, so I might have to do different camera orientations.

Black Hops/Spirit Bomb

Both of the title tricks are almost done. I've gotten all three process journals signed, and I'm getting my presentation stuff together for Thursday. Just need to finish these tricks so that I can finish filming the tricks for my video.

Rough Draft Report Update

As I was looking around for some inspiration while working on my written report, I found this old "Telephone Address" book and remember I wrote something in it when I was very small, maybe about 3 years old. Here's what I found:

I had written that as a wish list when I was very small (hence the handwriting and the wish for a paper airplane!) Now I have a way to start my report off, because there wasn't really a good way for me to introduce my passion for yoyoing. I think this is a great way for my introduction, and is what I need to move through the Investigating part of the report. Onwards.

Kamikaze Done; Finishing Up

Although Kamikaze has taken a lot longer than expected, I have completed it. I need to really move quickly for the last three tricks, because the report rough draft is due soon and I need to work on that also. As I'm coming to a close on the trick learning, I still need to make a video of all the completed tricks, which I can do right now because I can add more and combine all the video clips together. Looking at my criteria, I only have to finish up Task #1 and do Task #4 before I am all done with the product/outcome. Hopefully the next three tricks will come smoothly (which has not been the case for most of my tricks, but I expected that much!)

Update on Progress + String!

Kamikaze has been going really well. I'm having fun learning this trick because I had to learn a few new tricks before I could finish Kamikaze, and it's something out of the ordinary that/s hard but not terribly frustrating.
The new string has come! I ordered some string off of the site where I first launched the forum topic about yoyos, YoyoExpert. It was cheap, reliable, and faster than I expected. Here are some pictures of the string:

Progress is going smoothly and hopefully, and hopefully I can be done with both Kamikaze and Hook by the end with this week and start on the next one.
   Onwards and upwards!

Iron Whip, part 2

I'm looking to see if I can get some new string. I've used these 5 or less strings for about half a year, and I've noticed that they are getting slightly frayed and don't perform as good as they used to (hard to keep good string tension, doesn't bind well). I'll be trying to see if I can get some new string so that I have good resources to complete my project.

Iron Whip Done

The trick Iron Whip is now complete. It was harder than it looks, and it took me some effort to get the wrist flick right so that the string would whip. Plus, the string's tension had to be right or else the loop would not whip onto the yoyo. Overall, a really good challenge!
The final four tricks are approaching, with about a month to go! I'm hoping to go full steam ahead and (hopefully) get through these halfway through the month to start the final video but I doubt that will be the case. Optimism needed! :-) Kamikaze, you're up next!
